And the news we’ve all been waiting for is finally here! Simple Plan’s drummer Chuck Comeau has just revealed that Simple Plan’s fifth studio album, which the band starts recording tomorrow, will be produced by Howard Benson!
Howard Benson is an American producer, who’s previously produced a huge number of multi-platinum albums of bands such as The All-American Rejects (“Move Along”), Hoobastank (“The Reason”), My Chemical Romance (“Three Cheers For Sweet Revenge”) and MANY MORE! For his producing work, he’s been nominated twice for a Grammy award in the Producer of the Year category.
Check out what Chuck had to say about their new producer:
Who’s ready for a new SP album??? We’re thrilled to announce our producer for the new album, the legendary Howard Benson! He’s made some amazing records: My Chemical Romance, All-American Rejects, P.O.D., Papa Roach, Less Than Jake, Hoobastank, Zebrahead, Kelly Clarkson and so many more. We’re stoked to work with him and I think we will make a fantastic album together for all of you. The next 3 months will be hard work but tons of fun. Can’t wait to get started!
And here’s already a first studio picture of Pierre and Chuck with their new producer, Howard Benson.
Howard Benson in fact commented on his involvement with the next Simple Plan record almost a month ago on his Twitter page, calling the new album “ground breaking”. Check out his tweet:
