Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan recently gave a very long interview to Joe DeAndrea from AbsolutePunk, which (as it’s common with Chuck’s interviews) was filled with interesting and new information.
And while you can check out the full interview (and I definitely recommend it!) here, below you can find a recap of the most important information that Chuck revealed.
Firstly, a brand new never-mentioned-before song-title of one of the recorded songs has been revealed. The song is called “Sad” and it is the one that Simple Plan used all the trumpets and saxophones on [read more on that here].
In the interview Chuck also discussed the recently mentioned soundtrack project for which the boys recently recorded a certain song. Turns out, the project is a soundtrack to a remake of a popular French-Canadian film called The Dog Who Stopped The War and apart from Simple Plan, artists like Celine Dion or Walk Off The Earth should also be featured in its soundtrack.
Chuck also mentioned that the main mixer of the new Simple Plan album is Neal Avron, who’s previously mixed albums of bands such as Linkin Park, Fall Out Boy or Yellowcard.
And finally, the interview also mentioned Chuck’s and Pierre’s song-writing sessions with 5 Seconds Of Summer. It seems like the two songs the guys wrote together may in fact end up rather on the next 5SOS record than on the Simple Plan one.
