Pierre to not perform tonight at 24h Tremblant due to vocal strain – show NOT canceled

If everything were to go according to plan, all 5 members of Simple Plan would perform at the charitable 24h Tremblant event in Mont-Tremblant, Canada today. However, a message from the band regarding Pierre’s health has confirmed that due to his vocal haemorrhage caused by excessive singing in Mexico and the recording session that followed, he will not be able to sing at this event today.

However, Simple Plan aren’t the band to let their fans down, and definitely not when it’s at an event that supports a good cause. Chuck, Sebastien, David and Jeff announced in a message that has since been geo-blocked only for the residents of Canada, that after reaching out to a couple of their singer-friends, they will still go on with the show tonight and have a lot of surprises in store for the attendees!

Check out the English translation of the band’s message below:

We are extremely disappointed to have to announce that Pierre will not be able to participate in our concert [on Saturday] at the 24h Tremblant event. Following our show in Mexico City last week and recording new songs in the studio this week, he suffered a haemorrhage of the vocal cords. We hoped until the very last minute that his condition may improve in time to be able to sing [today], but after consulting two medical specialists, he was ordered a complete vocal rest for the next three weeks.

The good news is that following this rest his vocal cords will be perfectly healed, he will not be permanently injured and no operation will be necessary.

Normally, we would likely cancel a show following such news. However, after discussing the situation with Pierre, we soon realized that it was not an option we could be considering. Because this is our first participation at the 24h Tremblant, the problematics of sick children in need are very close to our heart and we did not want to disappoint the organizers, participants of the 24h Tremblant and our fans, we decided to go ahead with the show.

So we immediately contacted several of our friends and singers and asked them to come and give us a hand so we can deliver a great show on Saturday. They all have very generously agreed to help us and to sing instead of Pierre, despite their very busy schedules.

Thanks to them, we will be able to play [on Saturday]. This will without a doubt be one of the most unique concerts of our career, a once in a lifetime event, with several surprises and you are promised quite a party on stage.

Thank you all for your understanding and for your support for the 24h Tremblant.

See you [on Saturday]!

Chuck, Jeff, Sebastien and David.
