Simple Plan just dropped the new music video for the new single from their new album ‘Taking One For The Team’ – for the track called Singing In The Rain. As we already know, while the original version of this song, which appears on their album, includes a collaboration with the rap duo R. City, for yet unknown reasons Simple Plan decided to release the no-rap version of this track as their summer single.
The music video, for which Simple Plan once again used the help of their fans, who were invited to appear in the videoshoot, is inspired by the atmosphere of the 60s and tells a story of the 60s version of Simple Plan getting signed and experiencing various struggles as this bands gets more popular. Once again, the video was directed by Mark Staubach.
This is what the band had to say about this video:
The video is a love letter to one of our favourite movies of all time, “That Thing You Do”. It’s about the exhilarating power that 3 chords, a drum beat and a catchy melody can have on the lives of the people who create it. The video takes you on the magical journey from rehearsing in a garage to playing stadiums and topping the charts and the roller-coaster ride that is the music industry: both exhilarating and extraordinary, heartbreaking and bittersweet.
We had a blast filming this video and we hope that you will enjoy it and that it will make you smile!
Pierre, Chuck, Seb, Jeff and David
