After 6 weeks of rest, Simple Plan are finally hitting the road again today with the second part of their No Pads, No Helmets… Just Balls 15th anniversary tour in the United States. On this part of the U.S. tour, Simple Plan will hit some of the places they missed on the first run in March/April including cities in Michigan, Ohio, Indiana, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona, Nevada, California, Oregon and Washington.
Pierre, Chuck, Jeff and Sebastien (with David being absent on this tour) and their crew are already together in Michigan, just counting down hours before they hit the stage tonight in Grand Rapids. The boys’ first show of this tour will take place at The Intersection venue, which holds up to 1800 people.
Some of the shows of this U.S. tour are already sold out (e.g. one show in Seattle, Portland) and the rest are on low tickets alert as of right now. So if you don’t have your tickets, make sure to get them asap! Check out more info about where you can buy tickets in our TOUR section.
Definitely lots of nostalgia – that’s for sure. Simple Plan promise to perform their whole debut album from top to bottom and during the encore, the fans can expect a number of other great SP hits. If you want to get the surprise spoiled, you can head over to our SETLIST section for the whole No Pads tour setlist.
Simple Plan are also bringing some cool opening acts on this tour – Patent Pending and Set It Off will be warming up the crowds on this whole tour and from the Houston date (August 25th), they will be joined by a third opening act – The Bottom Line from the UK.
We might also expect lots of partying and celebrations in the next couple of weeks – Simple Plan are back on tour right when 3 of their members celebrate their birthday! Jeff will celebrate them next week in Minneapolis, MN (August 22nd), then the band might also remind their fans of their bassist’s David’s birthday (despite his absence) at the show in Las Vegas, NV (August 29th) and after the tour leads them to Canada and the Canadian tour kicks off, SP might also celebrate Chuck’s birthday either in Toronto or Montreal as his birthday falls right in between these two dates.
Surely, the band members will come out after the shows to hang out with their fans, but if you’d like to have a little bit more intimate meeting with them, check out the VIP pizza parties which are open on every date of this tour [you can purchase your VIP upgrades here]. If you’d like to see what’s in store for you there, the boys prepared a special video about them recently, so you can check it out for yourself below:
