Simple Plan Foundation pledges help to the victims of hurricane Harvey

Last week, a large tropical cyclone called Hurricane Harvey made landfall on the state of Texas in the United States and brought over 40 inches of rain in certain areas, resulting in floods, destructions of homes, displacement of more than 30 000 people and over 30 deaths.

Just the night before the hurricane hit Texas, Simple Plan were to perform in Houston, the second scheduled date in Texas (after Dallas) of their 15th anniversary No Pads tour. However, after having received warnings about the oncoming hurricane and with all their crew and fans’ safety on mind, the band decided to indefinitely postpone this show, as well as the next show in Austin, TX [we reported about this here]

In an interview with Journal de Quebec, Chuck Comeau revealed that because the band was in Houston, one of the cities mostly affected by this natural disaster, just the day before the storm hit, they feel a deeper connection with the victims. According to Chuck, Simple Plan Foundation will be making a donation to the victims of Hurricane Harvey and the band hopes to return to Houston and Austin for the promised rescheduled shows by the end of the year.
