“I’d Do Anything” deals with a break-up in a relationship and not wanting to let go of that person, wanting to do anything to be with him/her again.

– I’d Do Anything was one of the first songs that Simple Plan wrote together after Pierre joined the band. Pierre came up with the chorus while Jeff had the opening riff, different verses and a bridge
– Mark Hoppus is featured on I’d Do Anything because it was the song he loved the most on the demo Chuck sent him and because he called it “one of his top ten favourite songs of all time”. The band later asked Mark to lend his vocals to a part of the song which he agreed to as well as guest starring in the music video
– according to Pierre I’d Do Anything (formerly called just “Anything”) was the only song that remained after Arnold Lanni’s input into the already written songs for No Pads
– a slightly different version of I’d Do Anything has been used as a theme song for the TV show “Maybe It’s Me” (for the course of the second part of the first season)
