The pilot song of the 2004 album Still Not Getting Any called “Shut Up!” was written as an answer to all the music critics, who hated Simple Plan and who criticized them about being “so mainstream” and mostly just being rather negative about the whole band. In the lyrics of “Shut Up”, Simple Plan are standing up to these critics and telling that that nothing they say could ever bring them down.
