“We wrote and recorded the song before the pandemic hit, and in lots of ways, it has become even more relevant after everything that happened over the last 20 months. A lot of people are going through some tough times right now, and the song talks about how important it is to have someone or something to turn to when life gets really hard. It can be a life partner, a friend, a family member, something you love to do and are really passionate about. It doesn’t really matter, and it can be anything. For a lot of our fans and for us, it’s been music. Its power to heal, comfort and be a lifeline has never been greater and more needed than now. We really hope this song will mean a lot to our fans and help them deal with the difficult moments we’re all facing.”

“A lot of these concepts were brought in by our drummer, Chuck [Comeau]—he had this word, ‘antidote,’ on this little whiteboard that he brings in when we do writing sessions. It reminded me of when I was having trouble with anxiety like 10, 12 years ago, and I started having these pretty intense panic attacks. I didn’t know what they were, and I thought, ‘Am I gonna die?’ So I would call my wife and she would calm me down—we’d talk for an hour at four in the morning. That’s what this song represents to me: that lifeline that you reach for when you’re having those moments of terrible anxiety or depression.”
– Pierre Bouvier [Apple Music]-
I wanna disappear, wanna leave without a trace
I’m looking in the mirror but I can’t see through the pain
So I take another pill and I hope it goes away
Don’t fit in
Like the walls are caving in,
Like I never win,
Like it’s crawling under my skin
You’re the antidote
Even when it hurts the most
And I’m trying to find a way
But there’s no escape
Like a poison filling my veins
You’re the antidote
I’m tired and I don’t wanna fake it anymore
When it’s all too much and I feel like I’m about to break
You always come around and the darkness fades way, fades away
Like the walls are caving in,
Like I never win,
Like it’s crawling under my skin
You’re the antidote
Even when it hurts the most
And I’m trying to find a way
But there’s no escape
Like a poison filling my veins
You’re the antidote
You’re the antidote
Like the walls are caving in,
Like I never win,
Like it’s crawling under my skin
You’re the antidote
Even when it hurts the most
And I’m trying to find a way
But there’s no escape
Like a poison filling in my veins
You’re the antidote
You’re the antidote
oh oh oh oh
You’re the antidote
You’re the antidote
You’re the antidote
