Two days ago Simple Plan started their Brazilian tour in the city of Porto Alegre and continued with it last night in Curitiba, both located on the southern side of the country. Both shows were nearly sold out and fans seemed to have enjoyed their first look at the No Pads sets very much.
The setlist remained the same as in Argentina and seems like it will remain that way for the rest of the tour. As far as specifics goes, besides of many caipirinha jokes, there’s one little moment from Porto Alegre worth mentioning further. With the country currently being in a massive crisis – politically and socially, right before Perfect during the Porto Alegre show, many Brazilian fans in Curitiba began chanting against the current president of Brazil. Pierre obviously did not understand the Portuguese chants and replied (in Portuguese) “Thank you very much, Porto Alegre”), which of course resulted in a wave of laughter from the crowd, who’s politically-inspired chants have been misunderstood for cheering for Simple Plan [thanks Bruno for the info].
Besides that, the only change that seem to be exclusive to Brazil right now due to scheduling issues, is that the VIP post-game pizza parties now take place before the show (after SP Crew’s soundcheck). Only the Sao Paulo one might take place after since there is also a pre-game scheduled for that day.
Let’s have a look now at the atmosphere of last night’s show in Curitiba! Simple Plan posted a video taken during Crazy that will give you a glimpse of what a show in Brazil is like:
And don’t forget to check out the first official photos from these two shows in the gallery! The left image will lead you to the album for Porto Alegre pictures and the right one to the pics from Curitiba.
