Pierre promises new Simple Plan album (out in early 2022) to be very rock, compares it to SNGA

The British magazine RockSound published a new video call interview with Pierre Bouvier from Simple Plan. In the interview, the reporter James Wilson-Taylor talked to Pierre about his band’s recent unexpected success with their past hits such as “What’s New Scooby-Doo?” and “I’m Just A Kid”, as well as Simple Plan’s new single and the upcoming 6th studio album.

When it came to the album (which, by the way, should be coming out in early 2022), Pierre noted that the core fans will be in love with this album, as it is “heavy and rock” and even compared it to one of the band’s most popular releases, the 2004 album “Still Not Getting Any”. Check out what Pierre said below:

“I would say The Antidote is a good indication [about the style of the record]. Obviously, there’s a few songs that are a little different. But mostly I would say this album is very… it’s more rock. It reminds me of like Still Not Getting Any, 2004-ish Simple Plan. I love the sound. […] Really heavy, rock… We have about 2 songs that are more on the pop kind of cross-over side, but everything else is just straight up pop-punk, so I think the fans who are, you know, big fans of Simple Plan will absolutely be stoked to hear this.
