Sebastien to help Haiti by busking for change

You have probably already seen a person on a street, who makes money by singing or playing a musical instrument. Chances are the most probably you don’t know this person, nor his music. That may change for the inhabitants of Montreal at the beginning of March.

On March 2nd from 8am till 7pm the subway stations in Montreal will be filled with well-known musicians, busking for change, as the organisation War Child announced the follow-up of their successful “festival” called “Busking for Change“.

And among the musicians, performing in the subway stations will be for example ex-Dears guitarist Patrick Krief, Jason Bajada AND also *surprise, surprise* Sebastien Lefebvre from Simple Plan!

Last year’s “Busking for Change” event took place in Toronto, Vancouver and Calgary and rased over $100 000. This is the first time Busking for Change will take place in Montreal and Spring, who’s worked with War Child for over a year, is helping with sponsorship (Simple Plan collaborate with both organisations within the One Brick At A Time campaign, which helps building schools in Congo by selling bracelets in the Spring stores).

The press release for this event says: “Busking for Change Montreal is taking place at a crucial time, when War Child is setting up long term rehabilitation programming in Haiti. The event will mark the return of a War Child assessment mission from the devastated country, where it will be working to help the most vulnerable by providing support in trauma recovery, poverty reduction and education to those children and youth that are most at risk.”
