Silverstein singer tells a Red Light District story from touring with Simple Plan

Eyes Closed Blog recently interviewed Shane Told, the lead singer from the Canadian band Silverstein, who still reminisces about the 2006 European tour Simple Plan, where Silverstein opened for SP. In the interview Shane revealed a story about the two bands hanging out after the show in Hamburg, Germany, and how they once decided to hit the infamous local Red Light District.

Check out Shane’s story below:

“I remember it like it was yesterday – one of my favorite tours ever. […] I just think… those guys, you know, we’re a bunch of Canadians hanging out in Europe. And these shows were crazy big and those guys just love to have fun, you know?

And I remember when we were in Hamburg specifically… you know, Hamburg’s known for the Red Light District. And there’s this one particular Burger King restaurant that’s like in the Reeperbahn, where all the like prostitutes hang out. And they were telling us about this Burger King and I was like ‘Oh, that’s crazy, that’s so weird!’ And David from Simple Plan was like: ‘We gotta go! We gotta go check it out!’ and I’m like: ‘Really? Alright!’ So we just went there, just to go look at the Red Light District and the… hookers.

So there you go. That’s what we did after you saw our bands, we went and… we didn’t buy any hookers or anything – let’s not get mixed up here. We were just… window-shopping.”
