Styles of new Simple Plan songs revealed

The French website PTITBLOG recently posted a review of Simple Plan’s Wednesday show in Paris, France. However it didn’t just stick to talking about the show and the author of the article also decided to let out that she’s heard excerpts from the new Simple Plan album and for the first time reveals where we can place some of the songs when it comes to style.

The author’s notes pretty much correlate to what Simple Plan have been saying all along in their most recent interviews and that is the album can be divided into three types of songs: more pop/radio-friendly songs, ballads and rock/pop-punk songs. Now for the first time ever we are told which song could fall into which category. According to the article, the radio hits include the obvious and already released single “I Don’t Wanna Go To Bed” and also the mysterious “Kiss Me Like Nobody’s Watching”. On the other side of the specturum are ballads, which include “Perfectly Perfect” and “I Dream About You” and finally the majority of the songs who’s style has been revealed could be defined as 100% Simple Plan with roaring guitars and powerful choruses – these songs are: “Opinion Overload”, “Everything Sucks” and “P.S. I Hate You”.

There you have it – first clues to what the new Simple Plan album entitled “Taking One For The Team” (date of release: February 19th) could sound like. The remaining songs, who’s style is yet to be revealed, are “Farewell”, “Singin’ In The Rain”, “Problem Child”, “Nostalgic” and “I Refuse” (“Boom” and “I Don’t Wanna Be Sad” are already known).
