Pierre, Chuck and more pop-punkers appear in Chloe Moriondo’s new music video for ‘Favorite Band’

In May of this year, we informed you about the song ‘Favorite Band’ by the up-and-coming 18-year-old singer Chloe Moriondo, which name-dropped in the lyrics to this song a bunch of her actual favorite bands – namely Simple Plan (who were in fact featured in the chorus), All Time Low, Paramore or Pierce The Veil.

Today, Chloe officially premiered the music video for this song. And to many fans’ surprise she actually managed to have Pierre Bouvier & Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan, Alex Gaskarth & Jack Barakat from All Time Low and Vic Fuentes from Pierce The Veil guest star in this very sweet music video for ‘Favorite Band’. Singer Chloe Moriondo references Simple Plan in new song ‘Favorite Band’

On May 7th 2021, American singer-songwriter, 18-year-old Chloe Moriondo, who has a following of over 3 million users on her music YouTube channel, dropped her second studio album ‘Blood Bunny’.

In the process of creating this 13-track album, which could be described as a mixture of indie pop and bedroom pop, the talented artist drew inspiration from many artists that she grew up listening to and that have shaped her teenagehood. There’s no wonder, a song called ‘Favorite Band’ appears on the album as track no. 9, which gives pays homage to a bunch of artists that have influenced her, namely Simple Plan, All Time Low or Paramore.

Simple Plan in particular made it to the song’s chorus, which goes:

I wish I liked you as much as I like my favorite band
It’s not your fault, it’s mine, I’m just a kid like Simple Plan
And in the morning you could drive me home, put on your playlist
I just don’t like you as much as I like my favorite band

Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan already noticed the song and the nice little reference to his band in the chorus and reposted the song on his Instagram yesterday, adding:

“This came out today. Thank you for the amazing music and the rad shoutout, Chloe! Go check it out.”

Besides the shows and the overall festival atmosphere, another thing that defines Warped Tour is definitely the fact that it brings bands together. The bands park their tourbuses next to one another, they eat together during meal time, watch each other’s performances on stage, and often also hang out later in the evening when the shows are over.

At yesterday’s Warped Tour in San Diego, CA, Simple Plan got to hang out again with their old friends from All Time Low and We The Kings, who they have toured with multiple times in the past and became good friends.

PVRIS cancel opening slot for Simple Plan’s Canadian tour

In just about a month, Simple Plan’s long-awaited Canadian tour will kick off but, unfortunately, one part of it won’t be attending it anymore. While the tour was initially supposed to include the bands All Time Low and PVRIS as opening bands for Simple Plan, PVRIS has announced earlier that due to a scheduling conflict they will be canceling their appearance on this tour.

See their official statement below:

Due to a scheduling conflict we are no longer able to join Simple Plan and All Time Low on their upcoming Canadian tour. We sincerely apologize to anyone who planned on seeing us. It is a huge priority right now to focus on and complete our second record. We promise we will be back in Canada very soon! – @ThisIsPVRIS

If you planned on attending the Canadian tour – have no worries about the rest of the line-up – both Simple Plan and All Time Low are still on board and a new opening band that will be replacing PVRIS should be announced soon. Keep checking back to find out who this band is very soon!

Song-title of unreleased Simple Plan song co-written by Alex Gaskarth revealed

In just a couple of days it will be exactly two years since Pierre and Chuck got together with Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) and Mark Hoppus (Blink 182) to write some new Simple Plan music. Unfortunately none of the songs the guys came up with made it onto the final cut of the ‘Taking One For The Team’ record, but the songs do exist somewhere in some form.. on Chuck’s laptop possibly.

And while what exactly turned out of the collaboration with Mark Hoppus is still unknown, the song-title from the collaborative song-writing effort with Alex Gaskarth has slipped into the internetverse recently – the song was called “Constellation”.

Now, whether this was a sequel to ‘Astronaut’, we will probably never know. Or maybe, perhaps, if the guys ever decide to release some of the left-over songs from the making of ‘Taking One For The Team’, as they did with “Get Your Heart On: The Second Coming” in 2013, then we might get a listen of that song eventually. But, there are no definite plans for an EP as of right now, although the band is thinking of that possibility, according to various recent interviews.

Simple Plan will be once again reunited with their old friends from All Time Low very soon – in November they are heading out on their Canadian tour, where All Time Low will be opening for them once again, along with PVRIS.

What do you think a song called ‘Constellation’ could be about? Would you like to hear it eventually?
