All Time Low confirmed to open for Simple Plan in Montreal after all

According to the initially released poster for Simple Plan’s Canadian tour in November 2016, the opening bands for the tour were supposed to be All Time Low and PVRIS. While PVRIS were to support Simple Plan on the whole tour, All Time Low were not scheduled to support Simple Plan on the final of the Canadian dates – in Simple Plan’s hometown Montreal. Instead of them, the tour posted said that the main supporting band was to be announced later.

However, it looks like all has changed in this matter and All Time Low will indeed open for Simple Plan in Montreal! After supporting Blink 182 in Montreal last night, Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low tweeted:

Chuck Comeau then also confirmed that All Time Low will be a part of the two supporting bands on the show in Montreal in a follow-up reply to a fan asking about this situation:

Simple Plan announce Canadian tour with All Time Low and PVRIS!

Yes, you heard correctly! Simple Plan are coming back to Canada in November with another stellar line-up! The band will be once again joined by their old friend from All Time Low, who they’ve toured with on the Canadian soil the last time, in 2012. And with them, they will also tag along PVRIS, another American band, who’s SP have mentioned many times in the past to be very fond of. Members of all these bands have also starred in Simple Plan’s music video for ‘Boom’.

This tour will lead Simple Plan to the following Canadian cities: London, Toronto, Ottawa, Quebec City, Hallifax and Montreal. All Time Low will be present for all the dates, except for the hometown show in Montreal. PVRIS will play Montreal with Simple Plan, but the second opening act will be announced the supporting act later.

The excited fans are already coming up with various surprises that might come along now that we know of the opening bands for the Canadian tour. Firstly, we might once again hear Simple Plan perform ‘Freaking Me Out’ feat. Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low [remember last time?]. And who knows? Maybe the guys will even ask Lyndsey Gunnulfsen from PVRIS to sing ‘Jet Lag’ live, which will extend our list of female singers, who’ve sang on this song.

Tickets for QC and Montreal go on sale on Thursday, 10am and for the rest of the dates on Friday, also 10am. Check out all the tourdates and the newly released tourposter below:

LISTEN: Pierre collaborates on a new Xmas song feat. Alex Gaskarth, Ashton Irwin, Joel Madden and John Feldmann!

Are you already tired of listening to the same old pop punk Xmas songs? Is ‘My Christmas List’ too old for you? Well you’re in luck, cause some of the biggest names of pop-punk have just released a collaborative version of the popular Christmas song called ‘Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas’

The song features All Time Low’s Alex Gaskarth, Simple Plan’s Pierre Bouvier, Good Charlotte’s Joel Madden, 5 Seconds of Summer’s Ashton Irwin and Goldfinger’s John Feldmann!

The song was first mentioned today by Alex Gaskarth on his Facebook page, where he wrote:

Hello my loves!

Around this time last year, me and some good friends thought it’d be fun to record a holiday jam for the world to hear. We lit a fire, made hot chocolate, and put our musical spin on a holiday classic, with producer genius, John Feldmann at the helm!

We all knew we wanted to do something special with it to help people, so we decided to wait until this year to give everyone a listen! We’ve been working with Ryan Seacrest Foundation to raise money for an amazing cause, so we ask that in return for this track, you donate whatever you can spare to the foundation. Please follow the links and give whatever you can!

Big thanks to Ashton (5 Seconds of Summer), Joel (Good Charlotte), Pierre (Simple Plan), and John (Goldfinger) for collaborating on this with me! Holiday super groups are the best kind!

Merry Christmas, Happy Holidays, and thanks for listening! Hope you enjoy!

Xo
Alex

Come on over here by the fire
It’s cold outside
No-one wants to be cold at Christmas baby
Oh yeah

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Let your heart be light
From now on,
our troubles will be out of sight

Have yourself a merry little Christmas,
Make the Yule-tide gay,
From now on,
our troubles will be miles away.

Here we are as in olden days,
Happy golden days of yore.
Faithful friends who are dear to us
Gather near to us once more.

Through the years
We all will be together,
If the Fates allow
Hang a shining star upon the highest bough.
And have yourself A merry little Christmas now.

All Time Low and Simple Plan hug it out on APMAS red carpet

Some of you may have been little disappointed by the fact that even though two of the members of All Time Low hosted the Alternative Press Music Awards, no pictures of them with Simple Plan were taken at the event. Well, maybe there are no pictures, but at least you can now enjoy a video!

Alternative Press published a brand new all-access recap of this year’s APMAs, in which you can catch Simple Plan three times: mark 0:38 shows members of Simple Plan and All Time Low hugging at the red carpet, mark 2:48 shows Simple Plan’s performance and finally the guys can be spotted also at mark 2:53 shooting a photoshoot.
