Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low): “Simple Plan are rad dudes!”

There is probably no other band than All Time Low, who would the Simple Plan fans agree the most upon as an opening act for any of their upcoming tours. At the beginning of the next year, the Canadian SP fans will be lucky to experience both of these bands on one tour, along with Marianas Trench.

But is there any chance of Simple Plan taking All Time Low with them for their upcoming spring European tour? According to Alex and his very cryptic answers in the recent interview for Property of Zack, there might be. If it is with Simple Plan, that’s still unknown, but both of the bands schedules are potentially free for a spring European tour together:

Are you looking forward to the Simple Plan run since it’s a support tour?

Yeah, tell me about it. It’s been fucking impossible to get support tours. We’re in a strange place right now where there aren’t a whole lot of bands where it makes sense for us to support I guess. We’re super excited about it though. Simple Plan are rad dudes. It’s another band that is making a comeback right now, and they put out a great record. Canada is their home too, so I think the tour is going to be absurd.

Will there possibly be a spring tour as well?
There’s potential for a spring tour after Simple Plan. I’m not sure yet what it’s going to be. We do have plans in the works though.

All Time Low have not toured Europe with their new album Dirty Work yet and since they have known the Simple Plan guys for a while now, and they are about to hit Canada together… SP might as well just could just take them to Europe with them. Would you like a SP/ATL tour in Europe?

Simple Plan in Alternative Press: Last Ones Standing

Simple Plan have appeared in the December issue of the Alternative Press magazine. There is a new photoshoot of the band by Jocelyn Michel and also an article with a very to-the-point title: “Last Ones Standing”. I definitely reccommend reading through the whole article, as you will learn more about Simple Plan’s position in the United States, mostly about the before-and-after of the self-titled album, which made Simple Plan stop touring in the US and how it all changed when the band decided to come back on last year’s Bamboozle Roadshow.

Here are a little excerpts from the article:

“We’ve got so much left to accomplish. We’re nowhere near being done. We’ve never had one line-up change. The spirit of the band is the five of us. The sum of the parts is greater than each of us individually. We’re better together… That sounds like a Spice Girls song.” – Chuck Comeau

“I feel a very genuine vibe from them. They’re just in it to have a good time. There are definitely bands that came up with them that took themselves too seriously. I think once you do that, you start making records that aren’t you. Simple Plan were never bitter about new bands coming up and trying to take what they had. Nothing ever threw them off.” – Alex Gaskarth (All Time Low) on Simple Plan

Simple Plan down under equals new collaboration and parties with old pals

After three whole years Simple Plan finally returned to Australia. And just a few minutes after they landed they were warmly welcomed by a few old-school fans. The band’s first stop in Australia was at a local TV show called AFL Footy show, where the guys played their first single Jet Lag – although this time accompanied not by Marie-Mai, but by an Australian singer Vanessa Amorosi. Make sure to check out the video of their performance below:

Also, more pictures from the Footy show can already be found in the gallery.

The same evening, as a result of an online invitation by no-one other than Alex Gaskarth from All Time Low, Chuck dropped by to a local club in Sydney to say hello and celebrate this special occasion of meeting up with not only the boys from All Time Low, but also from Yellowcard, Hellogoodbye and Story Of The Year:

Today Simple Plan finally started off their real Australian tour – at first the only concerts that were booked in Australia were +18 (due to promoter’s/venue’s regulations) – but anyway, thanks to the huge demand from the Australian fans, the band decided to add one more show – in Melbourne – to make sure the underage kids can enjoy a Simple Plan show as well. The tour started today in Brisbane – and judging by the first fans’ reactions, they all had a blast :) The first photos from the show (thanks to SPB) are also already in the gallery.

If you’re from Australia and can’t make it to this year’s Simple Plan tour, don’t worry – the band is already making plans to tour the country again in 2012!

Canadian tour with Marianas Trench, These Kids Wear Crowns and All Time Low!

Seems like the announcements of new Simple Plan tours have no ending in sight: the band has announced yesterday that they are planning a huge Canadian tour in February 2012. And Simple Plan will again be taking 3 more bands with them on this tour: Marianas Trench, These Kids Wear Crowns and All Time Low! And just like the US tour, the band announced this one in a new video:

The exact tourdates will be revealed on September 19th.

VLOG: Kerrang Awards

Simple Plan published another vlog today: this time from the Kerrang Awards, which the band attended last week in London, UK. The video also captures the moment when Pierre presented the awards for the best live act to All Time Low. Check out below how much fun the guys had at the event and who exactly they hung out with:
