Chances are you have probably already heard the song Freaking Me Out as it has already “officially” leaked onto the internet. But what you might not know yet is what exactly it is about. The guys from Simple Plan answered this question in the new video from the “Track by track” series, this time, about “Freaking Me Out”:

All collaborations on the new album revealed!
The new surprise on SimplePlan.com includes a video, in which the guys from Simple Plan finally revealed all their (so far so “top secret”) collaborations/featurings – which will appear on the album. As you already know, Get Your Heart On will be including 11 songs. Out of these 11, 4 of them will be featuring 5 external singers.
So far, the officially confirmed featurings were Rivers Cuomo (from the band Weezer) on Can’t Keep My Hands Off You, and next Natasha Bedingfield and Marie-Mai on the song Jet Lag.
About now about the two remaining collaborations: first, it has finally been confirmed what Alex Gaskarth (from the band All Time Low) mentioned in one interview – that just like Simple Plan contributed to the new All Time Low record, Alex also offered something for the new SP album. Namely – his vocals, for the song Freaking Me Out.
The last collaboration is definitely a big surprise: song no.8, Summer Paradise, will be featuring the Canadian singer/rapper K’Naan, who we’ve mentioned in the news before: he is the writer/singer of the song Wavin’ Flag, which the charitable group Young Artists For Haiti (and Pierre Bouvier being a part of it) covered last year in order to support the victims of the natural catastrophes on Haiti.
What do you think about the new collaborations?
Alex Gaskarth to be one of the secret collaborations on the new Simple Plan record
It’s been already a few days since we found out that Simple Plan were one of the co-writers of the new All Time Low’s song “Time Bomb”. And what comes now seems like everything we’ve almost predicted:
In the latest interview that Alex and Jack from All Time Low did for Buzznet (thanks to Elisa for letting us know), Alex revealed not only a little bit about the process of writing Time Bomb and that it was in fact originally a fully-Simple Plan song, but also that Alex got to do something for the Simple Plan record too!
This is possibly one of the secret collaborations we’ve heard so much about! Make sure to check the interview with All Time Low below (the SP part comes at about 2:00 mark)
P.S.: I know it’s Jack on the picture with Pierre. There is just no other decent All Time Low/Simple Plan picture around.
Alex: Actually the song Time Bomb has a pretty cool story. It was a song that Simple Plan – well Chuck and Pierre from Simple Plan were originally coming up with Matt Squire, at the same time that I was writing with Matt Squire – like the same week. You know I would be there from 1 to 3 and they would be there 4 to 6. And basically what happened is that that I guess they hit some kind of a wall. And Squire was like “Check this song out! Maybe you’ll like it. Maybe you’d relate to it.” And so I listened to it and kind of changed it around. And then we wrote some stuff and it actually ended up working better for us than it did for them, so they were like “You know what? This is an All Time Low song. And that’s the problem, it’s not a Simple Plan song.” So we ended up using the song for ourselves. And I’m stoked ’cause it was a really cool opportunity to write with Chuck and Pierre.
Jack: “They are like the nicest dudes in the world. And they speak French.”
Alex: “Which is hot!”
Jack: “Which is the language of love and sex.”
Alex: “And I actually got to… I don’t know if they’ve announced it yet, but I got to do a little something on their record too, so that’s cool.”
Simple Plan one of the co-writers of All Time Low’s new song
For the American band All Time Low it has always been a dream to play alongside bands who’s music they practically grew up on – and Simple Plan have always been on the top of the list. Their dream came true in summer 2010, when along with Simple Plan and other bands they played together many shows across the USA and few festivals in Europe. We can only guess that somewhere along the road, the impuls to write something together must have come.
The song “Time Bomb”, which will be featured on the new All Time Low’s record “Dirty Work”, and which the band started playing live only few months ago and which leaked online in its studio version only weeks ago, has been confirmed to be a masterpiece by not only All Time Low, but partially the members of Simple Plan too! The lyrics to the song have been written by Alex Gaskarth (lead singer of All Time Low), Pierre Bouvier and Chuck Comeau from Simple Plan, and also Matt Squire, who’s also worked on some other lyrics for Simple Plan on their upcoming album.
It’s very interesting that the authorship of Simple Plan has never been mentioned before even though the guys have supported the release of All Time Low’s Time Bomb from the very first day. Pierre told Alex in one of their Twitter conversations that he’s “loving the new song #TIMEBOMB”.
Now here’s a question… could All Time Low collaborate also on some Simple Plan’s lyrics? Could that be one of the top-secret collaborations we’re all dying to find out about?
Make sure to check out the All Time Low’s “Time Bomb”, co-written by Pierre and Chuck, along with its lyrics below:
Bamboozle Roadshow is over
Three days ago the Bamboozle Roadshow, a tour across many American cities, which Simple Plan (along with other bands) was a part of, ended with a concert in Mansfield, OH. With the end of the tour, the guys made the last Bamboozle vlog, where they reveal their plans for the next few months: recording of the new album with few breaks for shows in Canada, China, Italy and Austria (about which we’ve informed you earlier):
The end of a tour usually brings some final surprises from the bands to the fans. And the Mansfield show wasn’t any different: during the last Good Charlotte’s show, Jack and Alex from All Time Low and Pierre from Simple Plan jumped on the stage to sing with Good Charlotte a part of their song “Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous”. And they all ended their performance with a group hug. Check out the video below:
By the way, I’ve got loads of awesome photos from the recent shows for you guys – I will try to upload them to the gallery hopefully during the rest of the day. So stay tuned!
